Why Hydrojet Cleaning Goes Beyond a Routine Tank Flush
Dumping and routine tank rinsing remove loose waste, but paper, grease, mineral residue and other buildup can remain on tank walls and around level-sensor areas. Our Hydrojet Tank Cleaning service uses controlled high-pressure water and specialized equipment to loosen stubborn material and flush debris through the RV’s normal waste system.
What’s Included With Your Hydrojet Service
Services below apply to the tank or tanks in your selected option. Single Tank Cleaning covers one selected black or gray tank; Black & Gray Tank Cleaning and the Tank Cleaning & Water Heater Maintenance Package cover one black and one gray tank.
- Black-tank hydrojet cleaning and flushing
- Gray-tank hydrojet cleaning and flushing
- Removal of accumulated waste, paper, grease and residue
- Cleaning around tank walls and level-sensor areas
- Final rinse and drainage check
- Final deodorizing and tank-conditioning treatment for both the black and gray holding tanks
- Lubrication of black- and gray-tank dump valves to help reduce sticking and keep valve seals operating smoothly
Is Your RV Telling You It’s Time for a Tank Cleaning?
- Persistent odors that return soon after dumping
- Tank-level sensors that still read full or give inconsistent readings after dumping
- Slow or incomplete draining, recurring clogs or suspected buildup
- A recently purchased used RV with an unknown tank-maintenance history
- Preventive deep cleaning before extended travel, seasonal storage or a long trip
Your Six-Step Tank Refresh
We start by protecting the area around your RV and hooking up to an approved sewer or dump connection.
We guide our Hydrojet hose into your tanks, using controlled water pressure to loosen stubborn waste, grease and mineral buildup.
We flush the loosened buildup out through your RV’s sewer system, keeping an eye on what’s coming out as we go.
We give your tanks a final rinse, make sure they’re draining well and check how your tank-level sensors are reading.
We lubricate your dump valves to help them move more smoothly and reduce sticking.
We finish with an RV-safe deodorizer and tank conditioner for a fresh start. Your tanks are ready to use.
Benefits of Professional Hydrojet Cleaning
- More Complete Tank Evacuation — Helps remove stubborn waste, paper, grease and residue that routine dumping and rinsing can leave behind
- Cleaner Tank Surfaces — Removes accumulated material from tank walls where odor-causing residue can remain
- Struvite Buildup Reduction — Helps break up and flush away struvite, a hard mineral scale that can form inside black-water holding tanks. Results depend on deposit thickness, accessibility and tank condition.
- Cleaner Sensor Areas — Cleaning around level-sensor areas may improve readings when buildup is causing inaccurate or inconsistent indications
- Better Drainage — Helps clear accumulated material that can contribute to slow draining, incomplete emptying and recurring clogs
- A Better Maintenance Baseline — Starts routine tank care from a cleaner condition, making good dumping and rinsing habits more effective

Suggested Cleaning Intervals
Cleaning needs vary with tank size, usage, water habits and the RV’s maintenance history. As a general guideline:
- Typical recreational use: consider a professional deep cleaning about once a year, adjusted for tank use and condition
- Frequent or full-time use: consider cleaning every 6–12 months, depending on use, dumping habits and tank condition
- As needed: schedule service sooner when persistent odors, slow draining, recurring clogs or inaccurate sensor readings develop
- Recently purchased used RV: consider an initial cleaning when the tank-maintenance history is unknown
Care Between Professional Cleanings
- Use plenty of water with each flush and during routine black-tank use; adequate water helps keep waste and paper moving
- Keep the black-tank valve closed during normal use so liquids do not drain away while solids remain behind. Before dumping, allow the tank to become substantially full or add water when necessary
- After dumping and rinsing, add some fresh water back to the black tank before returning it to service; follow your RV manufacturer’s recommendations
- Use readily dissolving toilet paper suitable for your RV system, and never flush wipes, hygiene products or other foreign material
- Keep grease, food solids and harsh household drain chemicals out of gray and black tanks
- Rinse tanks periodically and use only products labeled safe for RV holding-tank systems
Service Location Requirements
Customer-provided connections required:
- Pressurized Water — A working freshwater spigot or hose connection must be available at the service location
- 110/120V Power — A standard working electrical outlet must be available within practical reach of the RV
- Authorized Sewer or Dump Connection — The RV must be positioned where its waste system can be legally and safely connected to an approved sewer or RV dump connection
These connections must be available at the service location before tank cleaning can begin.
Hydrojet service cleans and flushes waste holding tanks; it is not represented as sterilization or disinfection. Service availability depends on tank access, plumbing condition, disposal access and the condition of the RV.
